Keeping It Real: The Truth About Colors Across Devices
Devices, Screens, and DTG Printing
-
Here’s the thing: Colors are a bit like chameleons.
They can change their appearance depending on your device, screen, or even how they’re printed. Whether you’re browsing on your phone, laptop, or desktop, the colors you see might vary—sometimes just a bit, sometimes quite a lot. Why? Let’s break it down:
-
Different Devices, Different Displays:
Your Samsung Galaxy, iPhone Pro, MacBook Air, and even that big Samsung monitor in your office all have different display technologies and settings. This means colors can look warmer, cooler, more saturated, or more muted depending on which device you’re using.
-
Video vs. Image:
Viewing a product in a video can also show colors differently than in a still image. Videos can alter the perception of color based on lighting, movement, and the device’s color processing.
-
DTG Printing on Garments:
We use a process called Direct to Garment (DTG) printing. Especially when printing on black garments, this involves laying down a white underlayer on the fabric before applying the actual colors of the design. While this helps colors pop, it can also lead to slight variations in how the final print looks, especially on dark backgrounds.

The Bottom Line: What You See vs. What You Get
-
As you can see, while it’s the same shirt, the colors can shift just a little depending on the device and medium. We want you to love what you get, and part of that is knowing how these variations can happen.
-
While we do our best to showcase our products as accurately as possible, a little color shift is totally normal. Rest assured, though—whether it’s on your screen or in your hands, our products are designed to look AI•conic wherever they are!
